Professional Summary

Chad Ellis is the Chief Executive Officer for Texas Agriculture Land Trust (TALT). Based out of San Antonio, TALT’s purpose is to help Texans conserve their agricultural lands, wildlife habitats and natural resources, and to enhance and sustain the long-term stewardship of private lands for the benefit of all Texans. Through TALT’s conservation easement partnerships with landowners, over 245,000 total acres of working lands have been perpetually protected from development and fragmentation. The impacts of these conservation easements extend beyond the fence lines for the benefit of all Texans. Ellis has over 20 years of experience working directly with producers and land managers implementing stewardship focused management. Ellis not only promotes and advocates land stewardship principles, he also implements it within his own family operation in Lohn, Texas. Ellis is passionate about helping empower the producer to be better tomorrow than they are today. He looks forward to providing this passion and leadership to the Department of Rangeland, Wildlife and Fisheries Management (RWFM), as a member of the External Advisory Committee. RWFM plays a critical role in graduating future problem solvers, driven by science-based conservation. Their input and expertise in the sound management of working lands is critical for the nation’s long-term sustainability.
