Support Experiential Learning
Rangeland, Wildlife and Fisheries Management curricula emphasizes high-impact learning that promotes real-world knowledge and application of classroom taught concepts. We believe our students gain invaluable skills and experience through hands-on learning. In our reimagined natural resource curriculum, we added a summer field camp and managed internship program to round-out our student’s classroom experience. Through partner collaborations and enhanced in-house facilities, we are offering career building opportunities that will produce future natural resource leaders unmatched by other academic institutions.
Invest in Education
The department’s priority is developing qualified professionals who can lead in a variety of industries to manage and conserve our natural resources. The department is seeking several opportunities in the forms of scholarships and graduate student fellowships, to make higher education more accessible for all students, in addition to seeking funding for endowed professorships and chair positions that will help recruit and retain world-class faculty.
Enhance our Living Classrooms
A distinct aspect of RWFM is the breadth of teaching and research that go beyond the traditional classrooms and laboratory spaces. The department utilizes several properties that serve as outdoor teaching and specialized research facilities for student, faculty, Extension and community needs. These properties are in need of critical updates to support and enhance their use.
