Education

Undergraduate Education
B.S. Animal Science, Texas A&M University

Professional Summary

Gary Price grew up on his family’s 77 Ranch in Navarro County. After graduating from Texas A&M University, Price completed an internship at the R.A. Brown Ranch in Throckmorton. Shortly after the internship, he went to work managing a ranch in Dickens County for the James Cave family. After more than nine years, in 2012 he took a job as camp manager for the Wolf Creek Camp of the Matador Ranch, where he remained for a year and a half. After managing a purebred Angus outfit in 2014, Price assumed his current position as manager of Prairie Grove Ranch in Archer, Clay and Jack counties in the Cross Timbers brush country of North Texas. He has been with Prairie Grove Ranch and worked for the Garrett family of Dallas for five and a half years. The Prairie Grove Ranch is a commercial cow-calf and hunting operation. The ranch is focused on improving their rangeland by utilizing rotational grazing and many forms of brush control. Additionally, Prairie Grove Ranch markets high-quality, weaned, preconditioned calves that are USDA Process Verified as non-hormonally treated and all natural through the Angus Link program. When Price is not working, he enjoys hunting, fishing, roping and eating at local restaurants. He also loves any excuse to visit Aggieland.
