Professional Summary

Parr Rosson, PhD, is Professor/Extension Specialist and Associate Department Head for Extension in the Department of Rangeland, Wildlife and Fisheries Management. His interests include international agriculture, agribusiness marketing, trade policy analysis, the economic impacts of trade and trade agreements, transportation and logistics, immigration issues and exploring trade opportunities with Cuba and other Latin American countries. He currently chairs the Education Committee of the Texas-Cuba Trade Alliance and has been a member since its inception in 2003. Rosson served on the Grains, Feed, Oilseeds and Planting Seeds Agricultural Trade Advisory Committee (ATAC) of the U.S. Trade Representative and U.S. Department of Agriculture from 2001-2015. He also chaired the Agribusiness and Fisheries Committee of the Border Trade Alliance. Rosson was director of the Center for North American Studies in the Department of Agricultural Economics (1997-2014), Department Head (2012-2018), Interim Director of Extension (2018-2019), Special Assistant to the Vice Chancellor and Dean (2019-2020) and Interim Associate Head, Rangeland, Wildlife and Fisheries Management (2020-2021). He has acquired more than $15 million in external funding to support his programs.
