Professional Summary

Michael A. Schuett, Ph.D., is an instructional professor in the Department of Rangeland, Wildlife and Fisheries Management. He is the former director of the Center for Socioeconomic Research & Education (CSRE) at Texas A&M University. Past academic positions include faculty member and department chair in the Recreation, Park and Tourism Resources Program at West Virginia University and Department of Health, Physical Education and Recreation at Texas State University. His research examines visitor experiences in parks and protected areas, stakeholder engagement, and natural resource decision-making. He has managed over 100 research projects funded through various public land managing agencies, e.g., USDA Forest Service and National Park Service. He teaches undergraduate/graduate courses in parks and protected areas and research methods. He serves as an associate editor for the journal Environmental Management.
