Professional Summary
Erika Sullivan is involved in The Prairie Project, which is a multi-state extension and education approach to building rangeland literacy in the classroom, specifically using prescribed fire and multi-species grazing. Sullivan developed educational and outreach curriculum using both the Rangeland Analysis Platform (RAP) and vegetation monitoring transects. Participants in Sullivan’s study ranged from 4H and FFA youth to Texas Master Naturalists. After analyzing pre-and-post engagement knowledge, the study found highschool students experienced the largest increase in knowledge in rangeland literacy. Morgan Treadwell, Ph.D., serves as the chair of Sullivan’s graduate committee.
