AgriLife Extension adds pond management specialist

Texas residents have a new pond management specialist as a go-to resource for science-based recommendations regarding private fisheries management. Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service recently hired Garrett Stamport ’22 as a pond management program specialist to help landowners with questions about stocking and managing fish in ponds and private lakes. He will be based at the Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center in Overton.

Conserving Lone Star State landscapes

Researchers within the Department of Rangeland, Wildlife and Fisheries Management are assisting the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department develop two comprehensive statewide plans focused on conservation management priorities, as well as the recreational behaviors, preferences and constraints faced by Texans.
