Professional Summary
Beth Silvy, Ph.D., serves as an instructional assistant professor for the Department of Rangeland, Wildlife and Fisheries Management. Silvy’s research and teaching interests lie in developing conservation-focused leaders in wildlife and fisheries management. She is interested in the development of novel marine fish species production and stock enhancement through aquaculture and conservation-based fisheries restoration efforts. Silvy’s doctoral research focused on warm water marine fish larviculture and spawning. Upon graduation, she worked as a post-doctoral associate at the University of Florida, and her team was the first to successfully spawn and raise Florida hogfish (Lachnolaimus maximus) in captivity.
