Professional Summary

David Brooke joined the Department of Rangeland, Wildlife and Fisheries Management as the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service prescribed fire coordinator in December 2024. He is based out of Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center at San Angelo and works throughout the state, focusing on the greater Hill Country and Panhandle regions. Brooke works with private landowners, prescribed burn associations, state agencies, and the Prescribed Burn Alliance of Texas to promote the use of prescribed fire as a land management tool. He hosts prescribed fire workshops, develops educational resources, and travels across the state to develop an assessment of landowner needs. His goal is to increase the number of fire practitioners across the state and increase the acreage of land managed with prescribed burning.
