Professional Summary
Ashley Long is an Associate Professor in avian ecology and management and Caesar Kleberg Endowed Chair in wildlife ecology. Most of her research explores how variation in habitat conditions influences avian distributions, movements and population dynamics. She is especially interested in how bird populations and communities respond to disturbance, land use change and climate. Her lab uses a variety of methods, including field observations, acoustics, tracking technologies and remotely sensed data to gather data and create tools that enhance bird conservation in Texas and beyond.
