Professional Summary
Haitham Mohammed, Ph.D., is an assistant professor of fish health and disease management in the Department of Rangeland, Wildlife and Fisheries Management. His research interests include freshwater finfish diseases, veterinary bacteriology, aquatic microbiology, vaccine development, and fish disease diagnostics. Prior to joining Texas A&M, Mohammed served as an associate professor of fish diseases in the Department of Aquatic Animal Medicine and Management, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Assiut University, Egypt. Additionally, he served as a senior scientist of fish health at the Center for Aquaculture Technologies in Canada. He is a Certified Aquatic Veterinarian credentialed by the World Aquatic Veterinary Medical Association credentialing committee and executive board. He is a member of WAVMA, the United States Aquaculture Society, American Society for Microbiology and the American Fisheries Society, among others. In addition to his research and outreach, Mohammed engages in editorial and reviewing activities with 11 peer-reviewed journals.
